Villa Castellare de’ Sernigi is a lovely Villa situated in the heart of Tuscany, in the Chianti area between the provinces of Florence and Siena. The Villa is located in a valley rich in history near Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and many other Medieval and Renaissance cities and towns. A holiday at Villa Castellare de’ Sernigi offers you the marvelous experience of living in the heart of Tuscany.
The Villa , restored respecting the original Tuscan Style, are surrounded by splendid private gardens, olive groves, vineyards, roses and woods.
Experience Tuscany while staying at our Villa and you will discover the typical scents, tastes and colours of these areas between Florence and Siena. A unique emotion, close to splendid Golf courses and Tennis courts, in the historical hamlet of Palazzuolo, surrounded by a park with olive trees, roses and Mediterranean herbs.
Enzo and Annagloria, the owners, live in the stone house next to the Villa.
At guests disposal:
The pool area is next to the Villa, is completely fenced off and has a lockable gate. The swimming pool area is surrounded by rambling roses guaranteeing privacy, an olive grove and 2 hectares of lawn and yellow-flowering broom. The swimming pool is 15 metres x 7 metres and goes from 1.20 metres to 1.40 metres in depth.
The pool is equipped with comfortable sun-beds. On the lawn right next to the pool is a splendid gazebo covered in vines, with chairs and a table.
Large garden with lawns, rose gardens and olive trees and there are armchairs and a table on the side looking towards the pool. At the further end of the garden there is a copse of trees with a large marble-topped table, lighting and a small kitchen where you can prepare meals and relax in the shade on the hammocks.
There is large variety of roses, including old-fashioned English types, which guests are welcome to pick and take into the Villa in order to enjoy their scents and colours.
The Villa is surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards, olive trees and woods. Our red wine – Chianti DOCG – is produced using selected hand-picked San Giovese grapes which undergo a lengthy maceration. Our extra virgin olive oil has won many prizes for quality.
If you happen to be here in the grape-picking season between September and October you can help with the harvesting and fermenting of the grapes and taste the vin novello. October/November, instead, is the olive-picking season and our guests can watch the olives being pressed and taste the new oil!!
We invite our guests to choose from our vintage wines and our olive oil in the wine-cellar under the Villa. Enzo, our expert in wine and olive oil, can give you advice and guide you in degustation sessions at our house and at other well-known wineries in the area.

The tennis court is easily reached, even on foot, as it is only a few hundred metres from the Villa.
From the Villa it is possible to easily reach some of the most picturesque golf courses in Tuscany. The golf courses are just a few kilometers from the villa.
The Cooking Class at the Villa is the best opportunity for discovering the secrets, but, most of all, the tastes and the aromas of the typical cuisine of Tuscany and the Chianti region. Our Cooking Class is inspired by the oldest and most traditional Tuscan recipes.

Villa of 550 m2 on 2 levels.
Ground floor:
Entrance with round Ceroli table, wide dining room with fireplace, large kitchen, laundry room, larder and 1 toilet; here there is also a 7th service bedroom accessed by 5 steps (very small window, ensuite bathroom with shower: for 2 extra sleeping places on request but included in the rental price).
Cellar.
Also accessed by 5 steps, 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with bath-tub.
The large dining room offer a 3-metre table which can be extended out to 4.5 metres (for 12-20 persons); the furnishing of the dining room conserves an antique style characterized by various sideboards and antique wooden cupboards. Furthermore, the plates and dishes are decorated with the original crest of the Sernigi family.
In the summer period you can comfortably eat outside the Villa – in fact, you can use the large gazebo in the courtyard which has an enormous table for 20 persons. Upon request, it is also possible to organize dinners in the spacious garden.
Finally, the large kitchen is extremely well equipped with professional gas stove, an industrial dishwasher, double refrigerator and a marble-topped table.

small "office" room with phone, fax, high speed computer, wifi connection and a safe.
First floor:
2 living areas (satellite TV, a DVD and CD player) with view (of which one with fireplace), 3 double bedrooms (1 with king-size bed, 2 queen), 1 twin convertible into double, 1 twin. All 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with shower.
Villa Castellare de’ Sernigi has two large and bright living rooms on the upper floor where you can spend pleasant moments of total relaxation, surrounded by the tranquility of the Chianti area and illuminated by the warm rays of the Tuscan sun. The living rooms are furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs and through the enormous arched windows you can glimpse the access road to the Villa with its tall cypress trees.
In one of the living rooms there is a magnificent stone fire-place bearing the Sernigi Family crest. The floors are all in old hand-made terracotta. All the arches and openings of the Villa belong to the original structure of the house. Scrupulous and detailed restoration has, in fact, led to the recuperation and conservation of some of the original architectural elements of the Villa, re-creating the ancient atmosphere of this noble family house.

La Villa Castellare de Sernigi dispone de 6 habitaciones finamente amuebladas e inmersas en la tranquilidad del Chianti. Desde sus ventanas se puede admirar el sugestivo paisaje de la Toscana, compuesto de verdes colinas salpicadas de olivos, exuberantes viñedos y cipreses seculares.
Las luminosas y relajantes habitaciones permiten ospedar un total de 11/12 personas. Cada habitación de la Villa dispone de un moderno baño; todos los baños han sido restaurados y disponen de una amplia ducha. El mobiliario ha sido atentamente estudiado a fin de ofrecer un ambiente confortable y relajante en armonia con toda la estructura de la Villa. El mobiliario de las habitaciones conbina el antiguo estilo toscano de los lechos de forja con el confort de los colchones ortopédicos y somieres de láminas.

* Habitación blanca iglesia: en el piso superior, cama de matrimonio (tamaño grande), vista a la Iglesia y a la avenida de los cipreses, baño con ducha.
* Habitación individual: en el piso superior, cama individual ( puede añadirse otra cama individual), baño con ducha, vista al jardín y al frente de la Villa.
* Habitación planta baja: 2 camas de matrimonio, baño con bañera y ducha.
Cocina
Comedor y Cocina
El amplio comedor de la Villa es el sitio ideal para degustar los platos típicos de la región de Chianti en compañía de amigos. En el amplio comedor hay una mesa de 3 m. que puede alargarse hasta los 4,5 m. (12-20 personas), adecuada para acoger vuestras comidas y cenas, o incluso meriendas a base de “fettunta” (rebanada de pan con aceite típica de la tradición gastronómica toscana).
La decoración del comedor mantiene un estilo antiguo caracterizado por varios aparadores y armarios antiguos de madera. Ademas toda la vajilla está decorada con el escudo original de la familia Sernigi.
Durante el verano se puede tambien comer cómodamente en el exterior de la Villa para lo que hay disponible una glorieta en el patio exterior provista de una enorme mesa para 20 personas.Por otra parte, bajo demanda, se pueden organizar cenas en el interior del amplio jardín.
Dentro de la casa está la bodega de la propiedad, donde reposan las botellas de nuestro vino tinto, denominacion de origen Chianti y las botellas de nuestro aceite. El vino y el aceite de nuestra producción está a disposición de los huespedes de la Villa. Enzo, experto en vino y aceite, sabrá aconsejarles y guiarles en su degustación.
En fin, la amplia cocina de la Villa está totalmente acondicionada con fuegos profesionales, lavavajillas industrial, doble frigorífico y mesa de marmol.
Salón
Salones
La Villa Castellare de Sernigi dispone de dos amplios y luminosos salones en el piso superior. Dentro de las dos estancias se puede disfrutar de agradables momentos de total relax inmersos en la tranquilidad del Chianti, iluminados por los rayos del cálido sol de la Toscana. Los salones estan amueblados con comodos sofas y sillones y a traves de los enormes ventanales en arco se puede ver el vial de acceso a la Villa donde se yerguen altos cipreses.
En uno de los dos salones se encuentra una maravillosa chimenea de piedra con el antiguo escudo de la Familia Sernigi. Los suelos son todos de terrazo antiguo, hechos a mano. Todos los arcos y aberturas de la Villa pertenecen a la estructura original de la casa. La escrupulosa y atenta restauración ha permitido de hecho recuperar y conservar algunos de los elementos arquitectónicos originales de la Villa, recreando la antigua atmósfera de la casa señorial.
Los salones de la Villa están equipados con Tv. vía satelite, dvd y reproductor cd, a disposición de los huespedes durante su estancia.
