We had a wonderful week at Villa Carolina. We arranged to have our host make dinner the first night, and it was terrific. We loved our quite little home on the hill with great views of the Tuscan valley. What a great place to return to each night.
Centolivi was a slice of heaven. From the moment we arrived on the property relaxation took a strong hold on the entire family. Our merry band of seven (three adults, four kids) could not have been happier with our stay -- unless there was a chance to make it last longer than our planned two weeks
We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay at Tenuca Branca! The room was nice, clean and confortable. The site is full of history in the middle of the Chianti vineyards, the view fabulous and our hosts were so nice and wonderful with us that we can not refrain to consider going back again one day! Don't miss the wine tasting session with both Stefano & Anna; we had such a great time!
Beautiful setting! The villa was not well equipped for immediate occupation. Plan on an immediate trip to the grocery for essentials. Wifi is available but it is a kilometer away at the reception area.
We stayed in Tuscany for three nights and this apartment was ideal for both touring and relaxing. Its right on the edge of a little village so its a only a few minutes walk to the the restaurants (3), pizzeria, bar or gelateria. Plus, the town has a couple very small shops for necessities. The location is ideal for touring as its 30 minutes away from both San Gimignano and Sienna. We also hit up Colle De Val D'Elsa which is a fun little town. The unit itself isn't fancy but has everything you need and the bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. Another plus was the pool in the back. While we didn't swim, they have a very nice well maintained areas with a hammock and lounge chairs that we used for afternoon reading. The internet is another nice benefit. Finally there is a large parking private parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding street parking.
The only drawback we saw was that it there was some traffic noise during the day since the front of the apartment is adjacent to the small highway that runs through the village. This would only be an issue though if you were hanging out in the living room during the day or if you were trying to sleep in during the morning in the second bedroom which has the two single beds. Since there were only two of us and only used the master bedroom, it didn't affect us at all
Overall, we thought this apartment had the perfect feel for a Tuscany getaway and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
The property was beautiful, & was ideally located just a couple of kilometres from the tourist hustle & bustle of San Gimignano.
Close enough to nip in for a coffee & a croissant for breakfast, but when you wanted some peace & quiet, the villa could have been a thousand miles away, it was so quiet & restful.
Very nice quality house, small kitchen, wish the pool was heated, poor internet. But the view from the terrace was beautiful, located in a small and quiet little village. Not too far from Florence.
The villa was absolutely amazing!!! We arrived and happened to have the whole place to ourselves. We spent two weeks in Italy at a variety of different locations and this was the only place where the pictures on the booking site actually matched the property! What you see is what you get and much more. The outfitting of the units is spectacular with great comfy decor and modern upgrades. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept. You'll want to axe any day plans you've prearranged just to sit poolside and relax with the amazing view. Ms. Lucia is in charge (along with her adorable puppy) and takes very good care of you from beginning to end. The closest supermaket is about 10-15 minutes away in town so you can stock up on snacks, wine, whatever. The town Loro Ciuffenna is super cute and also about 10 minutes away. It's easy to walk around and of course there are a few restaurants you can have lunch and/or dinner at. The next major town for great food is Montevarchi about 20-30 minutes away.
We rented a car as this is the easiest way to get around. Driving isn't difficult at all as long as you have a navigation system and the villa is fairly close to the main highway (A1). My husband and I fully plan on staying here again...hopefully in the near future!
Fantastic property. Fabulous location, clean modern, excellent facilities. Loved it and will be back!
