Nice farmhouse and outbuilding dating back to 17th century which have been tastefully restored preserving the ancient charm and the original architectural features like the beamed ceilings and the terracotta-tiled floors. This property comprises 9 units all of which furnished in a simple, rustic Tuscan style. The apartments Merse 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are in the main house while Merse 8 and 9 are in the out building.
This property offers a large fenced garden with shady areas, panoramic pool, bowling green and several nice corners ideal for relaxing or al-fresco dining.
Casale Merse is half-way between Siena and the coastline, between the Chianti and the Maremma region; it is in peaceful location amidst century-old oaks, in the natural Preserve of the “Merse” region. The river “Merse” runs approx. 500 m away and it is a nice swimming spot. The property offers nice views over the surrounding woods and fields and it is an ideal place for those who like being in close contact with nature. A short distance away there are the Petriolo spas (with sulphuric waters), known since the Roman times.

At guests’ disposal: large fenced lawn (25.000 square meters) with swimming-pool (6 x 12 m – depth from 0,9 to 1,9 m – open from 01/06 to 14/09, from 9.00 to 19.00) situated approx. 70 m from the apartments away, open-air shower (cold water), bowling green, ancient bread oven, barbecue and several nice furnished areas ideal for relaxing or al-fresco dining. Two mountain bikes for rent (€ 8,- / per day or € 40,- / per week). TV available (by paying an extra charge of € 10,- / per week). Laundry (€ 5,- / per washing).

Extra Services: Baby bed available upon request (free of charge). Maid service by arrangement (€ 8,- / per hour to be paid on the spot). Upon request it is possible to rent a shared room (with bathroom with shower) on the main house ground floor (not available in July and August).
