This great old villa was a good choice for our group of 12 cyclists. Lots of room, plenty of bedrooms, and a great place for the bikes and cars. The dining room is easily the best space in the villa, 12 for dinner with plenty of room left over. All the china, silverware and glasses matched so the table set for dinner was a great sight. The wine (maybe from the owner's vineyard) was an nice addition, just have a bottle from the sideboard and they add it to the settlement at the end. The views are spectacular and those that used the pool said it was a wonderful place. The caretaker offered her cooking services so we did that one night and it was a great meal at a great price. One negative is the beds. We stayed in the "master bedroom" and the bed was old and collapsing, quite a disappointment for a week's stay. I thought ours might be the only worn out bed but others had the same situation. The other tacky parts of the villa could easily be accepted as "quaint" and old but worn out beds aren't much fun after a day of cycling. I think the internet service is spotty in rural Italy overall but in the villa the only access point was in the kitchen and it only worked in the kitchen. On the bright side, it did create a good group gathering place! The wine bistro around the corner was really nice after a day's ride, the staff was great and the wine very good. If they take care of the bed issue we'd all come back for another trip.
Pro: A pretty old castle in a picturesque landscape
Contra: The appartment lies outside of the castle, it has now own outside-sitting-area or any balcony, there is no A/C in the appartment, one of the bedrooms has no window, the appartment is very dark inside, all installations in the bathrooms and the kitchen (e.g. taps and showers) are very run-down and partially out of order, the kitchen equipment comprises only a minimum (e.g. only 4 cups and 4 glasses - therefore, you constantly have to clean the dishes), there is no dishwasher, there are no basics in the kitchen and you have to buy evreything new (e.g. salt, pepper, sugar, washing-up liquid)
Conclusion: Not much value for a lot of money. Never again!
"La Rocca " as everyone in town calls it, was beyond what we could have imagined. It was a castle! There were rooms and spaces for entertainment that we were pleasently surprised to find. The Villa was clean and kept up! Vasile the caretaker was exceptional! He just showed up when it was raining to take us into town knowing we had dinner reservations. It was nice to come down in the morning and have coffee waiting too. The villa arranged for a private cooking class with a chef that was one of our highlights. We visited the local wine shop, and had a private tour and tasting. The towns restaurants were exceptional. We wish we stayed longer !! Loved waking up to the sounds of the resident roosters!

Wir waren vom 16.-30.September 2017 in der Toskana und haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub verlebt, wozu auf jeden Fall auch die Villa Nova beigetragen hat. Wir wurden von Cecilia (man kann sich gut in Englisch verständigen) herzlich empfangen, mit Geschenken überhäuft (Kuchen, Getränke, Obst, Kaffee, Olivenöl, Honig, Marmelade). In dem Haus und auch im Außenbereich fühlt man sich direkt wohl. Die Villa ist mit Liebe stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Es ist sehr sauber, reichlich Wäsche (Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Decken) vorhanden, in der Küche fehlt wirklich nichts. Auch eine Waschmaschine ist vorhanden. Wenige Schritte vom Haus entfernt ist ein schöner großer Pool (nicht beheizt) vorhanden, an dem für die Feriengäste Liegen reserviert sind. Wir haben uns rundum sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen die Villa Nova auf jeden Fall weiter.

We were in Tuscany from the 16th to the 30th of September 2017 and have a very nice vacation, to which the property Villa Nova certainly contributed. We were warmly welcomed by Cecilia (with whom you can communicate well in English), with several gifts (cakes, drinks, fruit, coffee, olive oil, honey, jam). In the house and also in the outdoor spaces you feel really comfortable. The villa is stylish furnished with love and very comfortable and fully equipped. It is very clean, plentiful laundry (towels, bed linen, blankets), in the kitchen really nothing is missing. There is also a washing machine. A few steps from the house you can find a nice large pool (not heated) with deckchairs, which is reserved for the guests. We felt very comfortable and recommend the Villa Nova definitely.

A lovely venue. We booked all the villas for a large group booking. The surroundings are very attractive, the villas comfortable, the pool area excellent and we had use of the professional kitchen and dining room for meals. The owner and Igor were always helpful and laid on a wonderful birthday meal for us. We tried the lovely wine and oil and there was horse riding for some of the group. The only niggle really was that things like beach towels and washing clothes come at an extra cost but was not excessive. We would definitely recommend this to other large groups. Easy reserve were also really excellent.
it was a lovely location, peaceful and quiet, and very clean and very comfortable. One helpful suggestion might be a way of allowing guests to choose the heating on, as was bit cold at that time of year mornings/evenings?
Loved the villa! We were a group of 12 and everyone had a very enjoyable stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in. Lucca is a wonderful town nearby and we made several other day trips a vineyard, Pisa, San Gimignano and others. The owner was very helpful with any requests. We also took advantage of the Pizza Party offered by the owner, the pizza was outstanding and it was truly enjoyed the experience.
