When I arrived in Rome we drove up A1 to the Chianti area. It takes about 3 hours to get to the villa. We pulled off the highway and up to the vineyards. The property is nestled at the end of a long dirt road. It is very romantic. The property is awesome. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery which includes the grape vines and olive trees that are everywhere. There are walnut and plum trees that you pick fresh walnuts plums from at will. When you are in the pool the view is breathtaking. There is a ping pong, foosball and billard table on the grounds. As well as a tennis court. The staff was very good about telling you where to go and even making reservations for you if needed. The location is perfect for seeing Tuscany. Right in the middle of Sienna and Florence. From there I saw Florence, Sienna, Lucca, San Giminano, and Volterra. All were less than an hours drive. I would suggest getting groceries from the local market (PAM) as the drive to the Villa is somewhat remote. It is VERY romantic.

We enjoyed our stay at Il Palazzetto. The owner was gracious and helpful. The house was spotless and well equipped. The grounds were green and featured herbs and ripening figs. The only challenge was the approach road, it took real driving skill and the lowest gear to get up. We did loose a tire to a close encounter on the road.

Heerlijk huis, tuin, zwembad en tennisbaan. Aardige eigenaren en een fantastische moestuin met heerlijke verse groenten.
Routebeschrijving was wat onduidelijk en de navigatie bracht ons in het verkeerde dorp/huis. Wie toch navigatie wil gebruiken hierbij de coordinaten:

Excellent location with easy access to other towns and local infrastructure and shops. Car necessary. Owner's dogs are friendly but get up (ie bark) very very early (in hunting season I'm told). Friendly and helpful owners. Great cooking leason and subsequent dining with the family of the owners. The property lived up to expectations.

We had a wonderful time in Tuscany and our apartment was good. The property is very well maintained with a nice swimming pool and a tennis court. They also have 2 donkey's, very nice animals. Two minor details are that there are a lot of wasps, we think they are also in the roof. And the beds do not sleep very comfortable. Very positive is the fact that the owner and key holder are very nice people and very helpfull. Cortona is a beautifull village in the nearby mountains, just a 10 minute drive away from the apartments, withe a lot of nice and good restaurants. We recommend Snoopy for the best ice cream and Trattoria Toscana for the great food at a very reasonable price.
