We highly recommend Villa Di Montelopio it is a wondefully maintained villa that dates back as far as the 12th century. Each day a new treasure unfolds as you learn more about the villa. The staff Maria, Sig. Dubi and Maria Palo are fantastic. They are on site to help with all of your needs. Maria's cooking is fantastic and provides an authentic taste experience in Tuscan cooking.Set on beautiful grounds the villa staff has a large garden, presses their own olive oil and makes their own wine. Montelopio is a quaint small village convenient to most Tuscan towns.The accomadations are outstanding and the staff alone provide a huge plus. Five out of five stars!!! We will be back.

Our group rated this property excellent in all categories. The owners were delightful people who tend their property beautifully, including the garden and the pool and they supervise the housecleaning with very good local workers. It was a real pleasure to be in such a beautiful house in that lovely natural setting with a well tended garden and pool. The nearby town of Monterchi had a restaurant and wine cantina and pottery store in the main plaza which was of especial interest to us with very kind, generous owners who cooked very well.

San Romolo 1 was a truly lovely property and the highlight of our two week tour of Italy. The villa is very nice inside - neat and clean with all the general conveniences and the views are spectacular! The owners are two of the sweetest people you could meet and though they speak little english, we were able to get along just fine. Suzanna, a resident of the property, speaks fluent english and was a great help to us as a friend and interpretor. I would hiighly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable place to stay away from the hussle and bussle of Firenze. We are so appreciative for the opportunity to stay here and felt right at home.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung im toskanischen Stil, sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Lage in San Casciano ist ideal um Ausflüge nach Florenz, Siena,Pisa, etc. zu unternehmen. Die Küche könnte etwas besser ausgestattet sein - das morgendliche Kaffekochen gestaltete sich als mühevolles Unterfangen, da der typisch italienische Kaffeekocher für 4 Personen viel zu klein ist. Sehr nett fanden wir auch den "Begrüßungskorb" mit Wein, Olivenöl, Nescafe, Zwieback und anderen Kleinigkeiten. Ganz dringend zu empfehlen wären auch Mückennetze, o.ä.! Wir waren zwar mit Autan und Insektenspray ausgestattet, was die toskanischen Mücken aber nicht wirklich interessiert hat...Dieser "Mückenterror" wäre der einzige Hinderungsgrund, nicht noch einmal nach San Casciano zu fahren (nach 5 Tagen sahen wir aus, als hätten wir Windpocken)
Alles in Allem kann ich die Wohnung weiterempfehlen...

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Very nice apartment in the typical Tuscan style, very neat and clean. The position in San Casciano is ideal for excursions to Florence, Siena, Pisa, etc. The kitchen could be a bit better equipped - in the morning coffee cooking proved to be an arduous undertaking, as the typical Italian coffee maker (moka) for 4 people is far too small. We also appreciated the "Welcome basket" with wine, olive oil, instant coffee, biscuits and other snacks. We would very strongly recommend to provide the apartment with mosquito screens! We were equipped with Autan features and bug spray, but this was not really interesting for the Tuscan mosquitoes ... Only this "mosquito terror" would hinder us not to go again to San Casciano (after 5 days we looked like we would have chickenpox). All in all I can recommend the apartment ...
