Here guests are welcomed into six charming units that reflect a rare and authentic form of hospitality: the Albergo diffuso—literally, a ‘scattered hotel’. Developed in Italy, this model revitalizes once-abandoned villages by blending comfort with local tradition in a truly immersive experience- in fact the "borgo" is a shared community between locals that live here permanently, and travelers that was born in the late 1980's.
Our collaboration with this placa was born to promote a network of local chefs, farmers, winemakers, guides, and hospitality professionals — all working together to create meaningful moments that we hope will make your stay one to remember.

Casa Paggetti is an ancient stone farmhouse located in the village of Pescina, in the Chianti hills, with panoramic views of vineyards, olive groves and woods. Dating back to the 17th century, the house belonged to the Paggetti family, whose coat of arms is still visible on the facade. Restored to respect its historic character, the villa is spread over three floors and retains original elements such as terracotta floors, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and period furniture, with parquet in the bedrooms. The garden, shaded by tall cypress trees, is arranged on terraces and lawns furnished with outdoor dining areas and lounges, as well as an outdoor kitchen with barbecue and wood oven. A swimming pool and a heated hot tub complete the picture. In a hilly position, the villa is ideal for exploring Greve in Chianti, Florence and the entire Chianti Classico area.

The villa is spread over three levels for a total of about 550 square meters. GROUND FLOOR — Entrance to open space living area with dining table, fireplace and kitchen with access to the outdoor dining area; dining room with fireplace and French windows to the terrace; living room with TV; bathroom with shower and laundry area. LOWER FLOOR — Living room with ornamental fireplace and access to the lower garden terrace; gym; bathroom with shower. Park:
The villa is surrounded by a fenced terraced garden of about 3000 square meters, bordered by stone walls and high hedges. The garden is spread over three levels. The stone-paved upper level includes a shaded dining area with table and umbrella, a seating area covered by a shade sail, a built-in barbecue and a wood-burning oven. Flowerpots, vines and cypresses complete the green setting around the house. A stone staircase leads to the second level, with a tiled area where there is a relaxation area, the entrance to the basement and access to the covered garage. On this level there is also the driveway gate, accessible from a small road that runs along the property and leads to the internal car park. The surrounding lawn houses the pool with solarium. Finally, a second staircase leads to the lower level, planted with olive trees and a cherry and fig orchard, bordered by a stone border. N.B.: Please note that the photo shoots are usually carried out in spring, so the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns and parks may be different when you enter the villa.
Pool:
The pool is located a few meters from the house, on the second level of the garden; it is accessed via a stone staircase or along a path in the lawn. Irregularly shaped, it measures about 12 x 10 m with a depth varying from 1.20 to 1.80 m; it is covered in PVC and bordered with terracotta finishes; access to the water is via a Roman staircase. The pool is equipped with internal lighting and a chlorine purification system. The surrounding solarium area is partly paved with stone and partly with lawn; it is furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas, tables and a lounge area. In this same area there is also an outdoor shower and a 2 x 2.20 m heated hot tub, with three seats. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

The property (which covers a total area of about 250 square meters) is distributed over two floors connected by internal and external stairs. GROUND FLOOR — Entrance; living room with French windows leading to the porch; a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with en suite bathroom with shower (no bidet); two double bedrooms (one with a divisible bed) both with en suite bathroom with shower (the two bedrooms can become connected through a shared door); bathroom with shower; laundry room. Park:
The property covers more than two private hectares, 416 meters above sea level, and is surrounded by woods and hills. The garden, partially fenced, measures about 3500 square meters and is characterized by lawns, tall trees and flowerbeds that slope gently from the pool to the farmhouse. A porch shades the outdoor dining area, equipped with tables and chairs; not far away there is a portable barbecue and a wood oven. Sofas and armchairs are arranged in a comfortable and panoramic position for pleasant moments of relaxation. After the entrance gate, there is a car park with four parking spaces.N.B.: Please note that the photo shoots are usually carried out in spring, so the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns and parks may be different when you enter the villa.
Pool:
The fenced pool (1 m metal mesh) is located about 30 meters from the villa and can be reached via a path and eight stone steps. It is located on a terraced level with panoramic views. Rectangular in shape; measures 11 x 5 m; depth varying from 1 m to 1.90 m; PVC coating with chlorine purification; internal lighting; access through four steps submerged at an angle. The paved solarium is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

It is a 16th century rural Tuscan house in stone which has been renovated following tradition with spacious air-conditioned bedrooms with private bath and with a cosy living area with comfortable armchairs gathered around a large fireplace and surrounded by a green garden where guests can relax in all tranquillity under the panoramic pergola and by the fully-equipped pool. The house stands independantly within the prestigious setting of the Castello di Albola estate with spreads over 137 hectares of fertile land which every year produces a top quality extra-virgin olive oil and a select nectar exported throughout the world which can be tasted directly in the original cellars of the beautiful medieval castle which dominates the estate and which once belonged to important noble Tuscan families and which is situated about 2 km from the property. The house is 5 km from the renowned borgo of Radda in Chianti (with shops for daily needs, restaurants and bars) with many other fantastic places to explore in the surrounding territory: Volpaia, Panzano, Gaiole and Greve with their breathtaking picture-postcard views and a unique range of artistic, historical, food and wine marvels. Facilitated by the beautiful panoramic roads, daily excursions to Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and Volterra can be easily arranged.
Crognole has two floors connected by external stairs. On the ground floor is a separate bedroom with divisible double bed and bathroom with shower (reached up six steps). On the top floor is a small panoramic terrace with two armchairs and a small table which leads into the house, directly into the sitting room connected, on one side, with the kitchen/dining room and, on the other side, with a hallway leading to a twin bedroom with joinable beds, a bathroom with shower and a double bedroom with divisible bed and ensuite bathroom with tub. The laundry room is located in an annex next to the pool area.

THE PARK
The fully enclosed park is situated within the Tenuta d'Albola (Albola Estate) and is composed of a green manicured garden with a vast arboreal vegetation, towering cypresses, expanses of olive and fruit trees, rose bushes, vases of red geraniums and surrounded by low bushes that, from the entrance gate (for the exclusive use of the guests), lead to the set-up areas and the parking area. The splendid panoramic pergola, just a few steps from the house, is the ideal place for dining or relaxing in the shade, with guaranteed peace and quiet. There is also a mobile barbecue.
THE SWIMMING POOL
The pool area is at the back of the house which is about 15 m away and is reached up a short ramp of steps. It is delimited by hedges and bordered on one side by an expanse of lawn dotted with olives. In the centre is the rectangular pool lined in PVC, measuring 5 x 10 m with a varying depth of 1.20 to 1.90 m, with chlorine purification and a metal ladder for access to the water. All around it on the lawn are sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas, a table with chairs and a solar-powered shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October.

In the heart of Tuscany is a small, little-known valley which few people visit but which is of great artistic and natural importance: the Valdambra which, with its wooded hills, charming old villages and precious remains of towers and castles scattered throughout the territory, lies between the ridges of the Chianti hills and the upper Valdarno, along the course of the river Ambra and cutting through the border between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. In this picturesque setting, just a short walk from Bucine the most important town of the valley, we find Casale la Splendida, an old rural house which is the ideal place for those wanting to explore the most authentic Tuscan-ness that these charming places express and retain. The interior of the house, brought to new life by renovation in full respect of the original plan, is particularly well-finished and elegant, with exquisite fireplaces in the living areas and refined pieces of furniture that create a warm and cosy atmosphere, full of comfort and functionality. The wide green outdoor areas, the portico with lounge area, the veranda with wood stove and dining area and the large pool all combine to make it a great destination for groups of friends and families with children who love nature and the relaxed atmosphere offered by the countryside. This destination will be ideal for exploring the beautiful area around Bucine, rich in vineyards, olive groves and woods, along which meander numerous CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) hiking or mountain biking routes. The main towns of Arezzo, Florence and Siena, as well as the prestigious areas of Chianti, of the Crete Senesi and of the Val d'Orcia with their picture postcard scenery and their old, enchanting borghi, are all within easy reach. Another attraction of the area is represented by numerous designer outlets, all a short distance from the house, including Prada (just 2 km away), The Mall and Fashion Valley. N.B. The owners live discreetly in an annex about 50 m from the house and can be a useful reference point for guests to whom, however, full privacy is guaranteed.
Interior:
The house has two floors. The main entrance on the ground floor opens through a French window from the portico into a small hallway communicating with a large welcoming living room on the left, with the study/reading room and with the dining room which is, in turn, connected to the kitchen and to a short corridor (with laundry and bathroom with hydro-massage shower) which ends at the veranda with table and chairs, stone sink, oven and hob. The French window of the veranda (with mosquito netting) opens out to the external dining area, located on the side of the pool. All the ground floor rooms have French windows connecting the interior with the outdoor areas, in particular from the living room leading directly out to the portico and the external dining area. On the first floor is the sleeping area, consisting of three double bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms (one with hydromassage shower and tub and the other with hydromassage shower), two twin bedrooms (one with joinable beds) and, finally, a bathroom with hydromassage shower. In one of the double rooms and in one of the twin rooms is a mezzanine with wardrobe area. A\C in all bedrooms.
Park:
Casale La Splendida is set in an estate of about 3 hectares with wooded areas and areas cultivated with olive trees that produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil. From the entrance gate a short driveway lined with cypress trees takes guests to a large parking area and, from here, a short walk along stone paving leads to the main entrance and the surrounding areas. The garden around the house, with typical shrubs, borders of herbs and various colourful flowers (geraniums, roses, lavender bushes, aloes and succulents), is a peaceful green oasis in which to better appreciate the calm atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside. In front of the house are extensive olive groves where you can stroll around while at the back are the outdoor living areas: a large stone-paved area with gazebo and set up for outdoor dining which forms a single open environment with the veranda and pool, plus a large well-kept lawn bordered by low hedges. In a brick structure next to the dining area is the barbecue while the wood stove is to be found on the veranda. Next to the main entrance is the stone portico set up as a lounge area with sofas, armchairs and tables.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The pool, easily accessible from the portico and from the veranda, stands in the beautiful garden surrounded by a large area of lawn and bordered by lavender bushes and roses that separate it from the wooded area. About 10 m from the house, access to the rectangular pool is via Roman steps. It measures 14 x 7 m with the depth at the edge 1.40 m and increasing to 2.80 m in the centre. It is lined in PVC, with whirlpool jets on one side, spotlights for night lighting, chlorine purification and hot and cold-water shower. Down a few steps is a changing room, a bathroom and two showers. Around the pool is a pleasant sunbathing area paved in stone and surrounded by lawn areas, provided with elegant sunbeds, deckchairs and a wooden gazebo. The swimming pool is available to guests from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

Interior:
The complex, consisting of the main villa and an annex, has been built adapting to the hilly landform that characterizes the property. The main entrance of the villa, which has two floors both with direct external access, is located on the side next to the driveway. Three steps outside lead into the vast living area that occupies the entire ground floor, where the rooms are all connected. Starting from the sitting/TV room, arranged with pure white divans gathered around the antique fireplace and the large TV, which runs along the wide outside portico, we come to a further small sitting room with second fireplace and, from here, to the dining room which also faces out onto the garden with seating area. Also on the ground floor are the kitchen, accessed from the dining room, the laundry room and a guest bathroom. A wooden staircase leads up to the top floor which consists of a master bedroom, with sleeping area, closet area, bathroom with shower and access onto a panoramic terrace, and two double bedrooms (with queen-size bed), sharing a bathroom with hydromassage tub. One of the two bedrooms has access to the garden through a French window, while the last bedroom is reached through the study that includes a double sofa bed. ANNEX: A few metres uphill along a paved path, we come to the annex, consisting of a huge living room with a high gable roof, which combines the lounge area with an additional large TV and the dining area with an elegant black table with chairs. Open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October, the oval-shaped pool with one straight side is sited between the villa (reached via a short flight of steps or along the path that goes around the garden) and the annex, about 10 m away. The pool, embellished on two sides by vases of water lilies, is completely lined with dry-mounted Tuscan stone with the bottom in grey-blue cement, characteristics that give a great natural effect inside the green frame that borders it, paved in sandstone: the most panoramic spot where you can laze in the sun on the comfortable sunbeds around the pool, or enjoy the cool shade of a romantic gazebo covered in climbing ivy, equipped with sofas and armchairs. The pool measures 7 x 14 m, with the depth varying from 90 cm to 2.50 m; you enter the water via submerged steps and there is also a diving board. There is chlorine purification and a hot and cold-water shower.
