We thoroughly enjoyed "Borgo". The apartment we had was wonderful, well equipped, with wonderful herbs outside the door, a beautiful site with great views in the hills above the Arno valley, and the people there, especially Olaf and Beate, were wonderful, generous, funny, multi-lingual, and so helpful. Get them to bake one of their special breads for you: You will understand what heaven is all about. It is easy to get to from Florence via the autostrada although it is located a little off the beaten path for the Chianti Clasico area. So it might not be the choice for one's first ever visit to Tuscana. But for a second or later visit it gives the opportunity to see and appreciate a different side of this wonderful region while yet being close to the traditional centers. Of course, no place is perfect: Our one recommendation for improvement would be the internet connections. If you, like us, need frequent and on-demand internet even while on vacation, Borgo is a bit challenging. One has to leave the apartment and go to the main house. Late at night that can be a bit tedious. But this was a small price to pay for a wonderful "home" in Tuscana.
We rented the whole property and had an excellent time. Despite the proximity of the autostrada the property is very secluded and relaxing and the owners very helpful and generous with their time. We had a large family and friends celebrating a 50th and it was ideal, providing enough space and activities for everyone to do their own thing without conflict. It is well placed to explore Northern Tuscany - Pisa to Florence - and the local villages and altos are well worth exploring and have some excellent eating places. It's not 5 star luxury but it has rustic charm in spades. You may wish to avoid all but the downstairs room if you struggle with steps or don't do sharing bathrooms but otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend Lisa and her property. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Das Besitzer-Paar ist sehr um seine Gäste bemüht und zuvorkommend. Leider sprechen sie kein englisch und kein deutsch, daher schwierige Verständigung.
Das Haus ist so idyllisch, wir würden wieder buchen und die Gegend weiter erkunden.

The owner couple is very concerned about the guests. Unfortunately, they do not speak English or German, so understanding is difficult.
The house is so idyllic, we would book again and explore the area further.
Villa Monastero - a great villa and great location for spending time in Siena and the surrounding Toscana areas. We were warmly welcomed by Daniela and Anna after a long day of travel and immediately felt at home. The bedroom on the main floor was cozy and bed was soft and warm for the unusually cool and rainy nights. The villa was extremely convenient for the bus stop and Piazza Gramsci arrival (7 minute ride). After days exploring San Gimignano, Volterra, Firenze, Chianti wine region, and Montalcino wine regions, it was nice to stop at the salumeria across from the bus stop and chat with the locals before picking up food for an evening meal in the villa. Our only regret is we didn't have more than a week and with the rainy days we didn't get to chat with Mario and Daniela more on the patio enjoying a glass of wine and some food!!! Terrific views, but chairs for kitchen table uncomfortable, and unit only has a couch for 2 people to sit inside. Simone eager and willing to make stay enjoyable but language was a bit of an issue
The six of us, three couples just turned 50! Treated are selfs to a long awaited trip to Italy! The place was spacious and clean. The views are breathtaking . Hope to return some day!
Exactly as advertised. Well equipped, spotless and a great location for touring Tuscany. Village has restaurant, coffee bar and small grocery shop within easy walking distance. Make sure to get good directions to the property if arriving at night.
