Really loved the setting and the property and the pictures were very much exact! Our biggest problem was that the owner spoke no English at all and we didn't expect that as we had been traveling all over Italy and had not had any language problems! Luckily his brother was visiting from Rome and agreed to drive over and interpret for us! We loved the dinner he arranged to be cooked at the house for us! It would help to have some updated appliances, we had to have one person hold the "on" button on the coffee maker the whole time we were brewing coffee every morning because it was broken! A microwave oven would have been so helpful also! We tried multiple times to use the washer to do laundry and just couldn't make it work right and the owner couldn't explain it to us in English! Over all it was a good experience though and we would rent a home again! Franco, the owner, was very nice and very attentive!

We all have different ideas of what a "Tuscany Villa" should be. Mine was realized at Villa Il Doccio. We had 6 couples and the entire Villa. I absolutely loved the off the beaten path location and the family who hosted us. The first night "cook with the family" dinner was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Italy -4 days at the Villa. The accommodations were wonderful and clean. The location was excellent - central to Florence, Cortona, Arezzo, Sienna, Montepulciano, Greve in Chianti, etc. When we come back to central Tuscany, we will stay here again. The Gren family gets 5 stars.
Unterkunft war geräumig und sauber, Pool sehr schön und im tadellosen Zustand; Im Wohnraum hätte eine bessere Couch vorhanden sein können, kein deutsches TV Programm möglich, mit dem sehr guten WiFi und mitgebrachtem PC/Tablet jedoch kein Problem, Appartment ist weiter zu empfehlen
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Accommodation was spacious and clean, pool very nice and in perfect condition, in the living room a better bed could be present, no German TV programs available, with the very good WiFi and brought along PC / tablet this is no problem though. We can recommend the apartment.

от повседневной суеты стоит обязательно посетить превосходную
агротуристическую базу отдыха Gattero. Идеальное расположение в самом
сердце Северной части Тоскании, недалеко до Флоренции, Пизы, Сан
Джиминияно, Сиены, Лукки, др. Можно свободно общаться также по
английски или немецки. Идеальное место для отдыха с семьей или пары.
Вечернее стрекотание кузнечиков, пение птиц, свежий воздух,
превосходную вина, домашняя еда и незабываемый пейзажи холмов Тоскании
окружают это место. Сервис высокого уровня (мы снимали 4-местные
апартаменты) на партере 2 спальни, кухня (посуда, столовые
принадлежности предоставлены), просторный сан. узел, на окнах сетки от
мошек и комаров. На этаже письменный стол и диван. Возле дома бассейн,
на террасе столик и оборудование для гриля.
(Минусы) добраться туда возможно только на машине, от асфальтовой
дороги 3 км по гравию, возвращались домой перед закатом, интернет
только у главного здания (мы жили в отдельном домике на 2 семьи).
При резервации стоит проверить входит ли интернет, уборка и
постеленное белье в стоимость проживания.
Мы провели незабываемое время, желаем и вам приятного отдыха ;)
Pojechałyśmy do Toskanii w 3 (wiek ok.30 lat), nastawione na imprezy i zakupy. Agroturystykę Gattero wybrałyśmy ze względu na położenie w samym sercu Toskanii, jako świetną bazę wypadową. Na początku szok i niedowierzanie- trafiłyśmy na koniec świata, tam nawet nie było sąsiadów! a następnego ranka pokochałyśmy to miejsce za spokój i przepiękne widoki. Jeśli wrócę do Toskanii, to tylko do Gattero, na "nasze wzgórze", jak zwykłyśmy je nazywać. Całość składa się z kilku budynków,my trafiłyśmy do nowego apartamentu w osobnym budynku (nie głównym)- warunki rewelacyjne, wszystko nowe, czyste, w pełni urządzona kuchnia, apartament składał się z 2 sypialni, kuchni, łazienki, przedpokoju i poddasza na relaks.Do tego widok na toskańskie wzgórza oliwkowe, miejsce do grillowania, basen i przemili właściciele i ich synowie, którzy stawali na głowie, żeby nasz pobyt był przyjemny- dostawałyśmy np. świeże pomidory z ich ogrodu, dokoła rosną różne zioła... no sielanka :) plus świetna baza wypadowa na północną część Toskanii. Gorąco polecam jako miejsce do prawdziwego wypoczynku,bez zgiełku i hałasu.
The villa itself was interesting to say the least with some quirky furniture (the chairs of which were not particulary comfortable to sit on) The artwork added to the atmosphere! We would have liked to use the pool more but were somewhat deterred by the onslaught of biting bush-flies each time we swam. Don't know if this is a seasonal thing or due to the proximity of the surrounding trees and heavy shrubbery but whatever the reason it made swimming uncomfortable at times.
Kitchen setup is great and although we did not take any cooking lessons from Ricardo we DID get the wood fired Pizza oven cranked up one evening after buying some pizza dough and toppings from the supermarket in Pontesieve. After one failure we were able to produce some very edible wood-fired pizzas. Local restaurants are good for pizzas but only fair to middling for other Italian food. Would not recommend the one close to the station at S. Ellero. Our only advice to Ricardo would be to install some ceiling fans. Generally speaking we had a great ten day holiday as the pluses far outweighed the minuses
my name is kaye parker and there was 6 in our party. oh my where to start from the mtime we arrived to the time we left our stay at montegufoni was awesome. the staff alone made the stay wonderful. our rooms were great and comfortable. the grounds were just breat taking, so well kept. we could not have ask for a better place to stay. the one nice thing its only 30 min. from florince for sightseeing, and the train to roam was right there. we would go back to montequfoni in a heartbeat. the last thing is we felt that for the cost of our rooms it maid it very afordable. this place was more than we could have wished for.
We are six people who have traveled extensively in Europe over a period of
forty years. For months, we searched for a villa and a location that would
enhance our month long stay in Tuscany. We found it in Torre Del Cielo
where we had a glorious vacation during the month of September 2013.
While the photos on the web site are very representative of the property,
they cannot describe the beauty and vastness of the setting, The villa is
situated on a hill in a tiny hamlet. As you approach, you are surrounded by
thousands of acres of agricultural land. From our bedroom windows, looking
past the colorful and lush valley below, we could see the walled in medieval
town of Monterchi. The tranquility of the villa was a welcome refuge after
our hectic days of sight seeing.
The numerous amenities are well represented in the listing. What we did not
expect to find was an owner, Rosado Rosadi, who would become our guide to
'all things' Italian. Rosado cares for his property daily and keeps it in
immaculate condition. Upon our arrival, not only did he and his wife provide
us with a beautiful welcome dinner, he proudly related, to us the history
of the villa and his family's presence in the area, which dates back to the
12th century. Rosado is a master tour guide! Many times he would arrange
lunches and dinners for us as we day tripped away from the villa. He was
reachable at any time by cell phone, text, or email. Rosado was our guardian
and has become a trusted friend.
On several occasions, Rosado would leave us crates of freshly picked
vegetables and tomatoes from his garden. Our final night at the villa was
celebrated with Rosado and his father(as chef), at a wonderful "family" dinner.
The next morning, as we reluctantly packed our minivan for our trip to the
airport in Florence, Rosado, his mother, and his father appeared to say
goodbye to us. Unquestionably, this wonderful family helped to make our vacation "an experience of a lifetime."
We booked Torre Del Cielo over a year in advance. During that period, we
had so many questions, and Rosado responed to each one in a very timely
fashon.. Our emails became a daily occurrence as departure day approached.
There is NO OTHER place I would think of staying in Tuscany. Torre del
Cielo is situated very close to wonderful Umbria, and, of course, to all of
Tuscany.
Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in the Fienile at Torre a Cona. The Unit was well equipped and very comfortable for 4 adults. Torre a Cona ia a beautiful property and conveniently located near Florence, but also very quiet and rural. Torre a Cona staff were very friendly and helpful from the booking process all the way through checkout. Highly recommend this property!
