Very beautiful house, garden and surroundings. San Gimignano is a nice, charming town. The welcoming representant did not speak English, so little information was available (e.g. heating). In the kitchen(s) there was no dishwasher soap, neither salt, sugar, tea etc. so you have to buy everything.
Eine absolute Traumlage. Das Haus ist wunderschön und liebevoll gestaltet. Alles sehr sauber und komplett ausgestattet. Die Gastgeberin ist absolut megatop. Hinzu kommt, dass sie mit ihren 4 Kindern den Laden alleine schmeißt.
Wir waren als Familie mit 4 Kindern dort. Absolut perfekt.
Perfect accommodation for our family, easy to find supermarket. Great spot for day trips, train handy. Everybody was very nice and helpful.

Nach einer sehr langen Anfahrt zum Haus, waren wir positiv überrascht. Ein altes Steinhaus das sehr schön hergerichtet ist. Die Inneneinrichtung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gewählt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Im Oktober war es im Haus trotz der Wärme tagsüber abends sehr kalt, der Kamin war daher super :-) Für kleine Kinder ist das Haus eher nicht geeignet, da es im Haus mehrere kleine Stufen gibt und das Haus am Abhang gebaut ist, ist das Spielen im Freien eher eingeschränkt. Der Außenbereich ist gepflegt und mit einem Grill ausgestattet. Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es, da das Geschirr für 5 Leute sehr knapp war. Im großen und Ganzen war es ein toller Urlaub und ich empfehle das Haus gerne weiter.

After a very long drive to the house, we were pleasantly surprised. An old stone house which is very nicely decorated. The interior has been chosen with great attention to detail. There was nothing to be missed for us. In October despite the heat during the day in the evening it was very cold in the house, therefore the fireplace was great :-) For small children, the house is rather not suitable, since there are several small steps in the house and the house is built on the slope, and for this reason is outdoor play rather restricted. The outdoor area is well maintained and equipped with a barbecue. There is only a negative remark regarding the tableware that we found very scarce for 5 people. On the whole it was a great holiday and I recommend the house with pleasure.
Great property with beautiful views. The apartment is simple but comfortable. We had trouble with the WiFi but it didn’t matter as we had phone plan to access internet. Location works well for day trips to towns and cities in the area and for visits to wineries. The weather during our stay at the end of September was great but the pool was too chilly to swim in. During our 3 day stay we were the only ones in the apartments so had the property to ourselves to sit and watch the beautiful sunset over the picture perfect landscape at the end of the day with a glass of wine before heading out for dinner – there isn’t anything better than that! Maria was warm and friendly but her English is limited however, we didn’t need to ask her much as we had our day trips already planned. Would suggest they put up a sign so it is easier for renters to identify their property. Loved our stay at La Chiantigiana! Tim and Sue from Toronto, Canada

Wonderful experience at the castle. We really enjoyed our stay here and it was absolutely a highlight of our holiday. If you are staying here though, renting a car is a must. It was very difficult to get around anywhere. We did hire ebikes which was loads of fun, however a car would've been much better!
Aufenthalt für 9 Nächte. Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in Certaldo Alto in einem alten Palazzo. Mit der Wohnung kann der Turm des Palastes genutzt werden. Hervorragende Sicht auf Certald Alto, Certaldo Ort, in die Landschaft der Toscana bis San Gimignano.
Gastgeber freundlich und hilfsbereit. Verständigung auf Englisch war möglich. Gastronomie in der Altstadt und im Ort reichlich vorhanden. Bahnhof innerhalb von 15 Minuten erreichbar, Verbindungen nach Siena/Florenz und Pisa stündlich.
Supermarkt (ca. 2 km) mit Auto erreichbar.

Stay for 9 nights. The property is located in the heart of Certaldo Alto in an ancient palazzo. With the apartment one can use also the tower of the palace. Excellent view of Certaldo Alto, Certaldo place, of the countryside of Toscana up to San Gimignano.
Hosts friendly and helpful. Communication in English was possible.
Several restaurants in the old town and nearby. Train station reachable within 15 minutes, connections to Siena/Florence and Pisa every hour. Supermarket (about 2 km) by car.
