La llegada fue decepcionante, el enclave no está en la típica colina Toscana sino un monte con una imponente vegetación. Cenamos en un restaurante próximo, por cierto muy bien y nos fuimos a dormir incluso pensando en buscar otro alojamiento,
A la mañana siguiente nuestra percepción cambió. Estábamos dentro del recinto de un palacio del siglo XI, rodeados de un bosque de castaños, nogales, robles, cerezos, etc un lugar impresionante a pocos minutos del paisaje de la Toscana qué todos imaginamos.
La casa del’ambaciatore es exactamente como figura en la descripción de la página; todo en perfecto estado y con todo tipo de menaje que puedas necesitar, hasta el último detalle. No echarás nada en falta. Te encontrarás un cesto de frutas y nueces y varios jarrones con rosas.
Una noche un poco fresca , encendimos la chimenea de piedra que ampara la exquisita decoración del salón y fue una velada maravillosa , bajo la tutela del escudo nobiliario de la familia Cervini .
La cercanía al pueblo “ Vivo D’ Orcia “ te permite acercarte dando un paseo y poder comprar en la tienda del pueblo , o tomarte un aperitivo a la sombra de un cerezo .
La atención de Rachel, la persona encargada, fue perfecta y nos solucionó cualquier pega con celeridad.
Tampoco debemos olvidar la amabilidad de Michela , en lo que respecta a la limpieza y atención de la casa .
Únicamente el wifi debería mejorar y quizás un frigorífico más moderno…..
Sinceramente un lugar privilegiado y para no olvidar .

The arrival was disappointing, the enclave is not on a typical Tuscan hill but on a hill with an imposing vegetation. We had dinner in a nearby restaurant, which by the way was very good, and went to bed, even thinking of looking for another accommodation,
The next morning our perception changed. We were inside the enclosure of an 11th century palace, surrounded by a forest of chestnut, walnut, oak, cherry trees, etc., an impressive place just a few minutes from the Tuscan landscape we all imagined.
The casa del'ambaciatore is exactly as it appears in the description on the website; everything is in perfect condition and with all the furnishings you could possibly need, down to the last detail. You won't miss anything. You will find a basket of fruits and nuts and several vases with roses.
One cool evening, we lit the stone fireplace that protects the exquisite decoration of the lounge and it was a wonderful evening, under the protection of the noble coat of arms of the Cervini family.
The proximity to the village of "Vivo D'Orcia" allows you to go for a stroll and shop in the village shop, or have an aperitif in the shade of a cherry tree.
The attention of Rachel, the person in charge, was perfect and she solved any problem quickly.
We must not forget Michela's kindness, as far as the cleanliness and attention of the house is concerned.
Only the wifi should be improved and perhaps a more modern fridge.....
Sincerely a privileged place and not to forget.

To be reviewed the bathrooms/showers and it would need a fridge in addition to the kitchen because insufficient for so many guests.
Wonderful holiday. I hope to repeat it next year.
Beautiful house in a very secluded garden and area near Cortona. It was a perfect base for visiting Tuscany and Umbria, and we truly enjoyed the swimming pool and gardens. We will definitely book again.
An absolutely amazing small villa, brilliant generously-sized pool, wonderful situation with a most generous and friendly host Michele. You will not regret booking, it offers excellent value for money and we would be going back next year except it is so popular it is already booked.
Points of Note
The communal living space (lounge/dining room/kitchen) is cosy/intimate aka fairly small. Don’t anticipate whipping up any 5 course banquets for yourself. If you intend on eating out at restaurants a lot or dining on simple fare al fresco then this doesn't matter.
The villa is close (200m or less) to the nearby dual carriageway autostrada thus inevitably there is some road noise. This didn’t bother us that much, however if you are looking for absolute peace and tranquillity just be aware that when you sit outside you can hear (and from certain spots by the pool see) fast traffic almost all the time.
The Great Bits (of which there are many)
Actually almost too many to note.
The bedrooms are generous especially the master. The grounds of the villa are lovely, so well-kept, the best I’ve seen in a rental property. From the electric gates, to the car port for shade, to the solarium and covered outdoor eating areas, with BBQ, games area, on to the absolutely fabulous pool with recliners and steamer chairs and umbrellas everywhere for shade etc etc it is wonderful and maintained to the highest standards. There is also an ample supply of inflatables/toys for the pool, so don’t bother bringing your own.
The villa has a great situation sitting surprisingly high above the surrounding countryside and thus commanding some lovely views to the distance including Montepulciano.
Although not crazy hot when we stayed first week in June, the air conditioning in each living space works really well and is very discrete, which was a real bonus.
From start to finish Michele is a wonderful host, we were amazed by a constant stream of gifts and supplies that would appear magically on various mornings courtesy of our Food Fairy!! And also the magic pool that seemed to clean itself very early each morning – or maybe that was Michele too, whatever he’s great.
