A beautiful location with only two remarks, one of which specifically relates to the Apollo appartment. The appartment is situated in an old building with very old beams. Unfortunately these beams are thermite infected with consequently little creatures falling down (in the bed and linnen). Other remark relates to both swimming pools ; nice pools but the water quality is poor. Not in terms of polution but more in terms of unbalanced/too much chlorides added to the water thus impacting eyes and mouth.

We booked La Capinera for a week for our honeymoon and just loved it.

We were greeted by the owners with glasses of fizz to celebrate our wedding, and were very soon left on our own in our little paradise in Tuscany.

A great base to see Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Sienna and the Chianti wine region, we were torn between traversing the Italian countryside cursing the SatNav and relaxing by our very own private pool.

We cooked, we drank, we relaxed and had the time of our life.

A wonderful place with wonderful memories.

Would highly recommend.

Villa Il Nido, is the peferct base to explore North Tuscany. The owners make you feel very welcome. The garden is well kept and the house was spotlessly clean. However the furniture has seen better days, but is comfortable enough. The property could benefit from mosquito nets and air con, but don't let this put you off as it is a lovely spacious house.
The Villa is situated at the top of a hill and has excellent views across Castelnuovo.
It is a 10-15 minute walk to the local shops,bar and resturants.
There are many small and picturesque villages to explore and because its off the beaten track , prices are very reasonable.eg 6 euro for a pizza , 2 euro for coffee and cake.
The train station is 5 mins drive and has direct links to Lucca and Pisa and one change to get to Florence.
All in all a lovely place to stay... we will be returning.

Very nice complex, the flats were all occupied but it was not an inconvenience, the pool was enough big to share it. It’s on a very nice location; the views are amazing, on summer when the vines and the olives are green. We have a heat wave, and the pool was necessary to refresh up.
The locations it’s about 15 minutes of Certaldo, where you can find and buy what you need. The supermarket COOP in the suburbs of the city it’s perfect, you can find products from the zone and the prices are reasonable. In Certaldo also you have a train station, a very good way to visit big cities as Firenze or Siena.
A little bit more tourist information available in the apartment would be very helpful, as the train timetable, maps, recommended visits (restaurants, wine taste, small village …)
In our opinion, the worst of the complex is that the buildings are so closed with the road in the back side, so you hear all the time the cars that runs so fast, and by night you also see the cars lights, the road is so transited by night and early time.
Mosquitoes also like a lot the complex, so you have to come ready to fight them (creams and special liquids will be very useful)
