Sehr freundlicher, hilfsbereiter und serviceorientierter Vermieter, der auf dem riesigen Gelände des antico borgo wohnt, die Privatshäre der Gäste aber absolut respektiert. Da sich die Wohnung in einem alten Gebäude befindet, sind Schlaf- und Badezimmer eher etwas kleiner, der Küchen/Wohnbereich dafür um so großzügiger. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ließ keine Wünsche offen, insbesondere die üppige Ausstattung mit Kochutensilien. Vor der Wohnung gibt es eine Terrasse, die durch Dachüberstand vor Sonne (und auch Regen) geschützt ist. Auf dem sehr gepflegten Grundstück gibt es einen Pool mit Liegen, Sonnenschirmen.
Die Lage der Wohnung ist verkehrsgünstig. Trotzdem ist es imHaus und auf dem Grundstück sehr ruhig, da diese Bereiche zur straßenabgewandten Seite gelegen sind.

The castle had a wonderful place to eat and beautiful views. Very quiet, just a little ways from town, but a fun place to stay for a castle!

This villa is excellent from a bedroom to pool to facilities perspective. However, please be cautious that the driveway into the villa is along a very narrow alley and with a few angles to navigate. We got our rental car scratched so, this holiday cost is 50% more than we intended to. I didn't read about this anywhere on the documents we were sent, nor from other reviews.

First off, I believe that honest reviews are the best. People spend a lot of money sight-unseen and it is critical to help set proper expectations.

Overall, we were most pleased with the accommodations. There were seven of us (5 adults and 2 teens) and we were more than comfortable. We felt more than welcomed by our wonderful hostess, Lucia.

The view could not have been more scenic and the pool (note, unheated for those traveling in the offseason) and patio area were quite nice.

Of course, it is difficult for any rental location to live up to the expectations set by the website photos and this one was no exception. The place was just a little bit more "lived in" than the photos would indicate, but that's just good marketing! Just set your expectations accordingly. We had some minor issues which I'm certain the owner would have tackled had we asked (a few ants in the kitchen and an A/C unit in one of the bedrooms wouldn't work). But, certainly we experienced nothing that should cause a person hesitation in booking this villa.

As advertised, the village of Poggibonsi is quaint and has a lot to offer. However, be aware that nothing is within walking distance. You need a car. That said, the location is perfectly nestled between Siena, Florence, and San Gimingnano---an easy drive to all places.

All told, I felt that I more than received a value for my money. To put 7 in a place like that for a week was a winner, in my mind and I would recommend it to anyone who asks!
