Lovely place to stay -7-8 kms out of Cortona. Good base to explore Tuscany and Umbria if driving. Lovely hospitable family who will provide you with food tomatoes from garden and suggestions as to what to do in area. Very well equipped house, family lives on top. There is a pizzeria across the road for eating out.

The villa and grounds are lovely and private with great views. Owner very sweet and eager to please in spite of language barrier. For 3 couples we each had our own floor which afforded a lot of privacy but the house easily accomodates more. The outside kitchen is a great gathering space and fully equipped for cooking at home. We loved it. It is about a 15 min drive to Cortona. Shirley-Cape Cod

This was our sixth visit to this beautifully situated property. We hope we will be back again. On this visit we were especially delighted by the assistance we received from the owner and her family to resolve car and luggage problems that we encountered.

We were very happy with the villa. Located close to the coop in town where you can find everything you need. The fireplace was amazing and we had the use of both the BBQ and authentic pizza oven (wood was provided)There is a very friendly dog "Molly" which you will either love or hate. She is always happy to see you and greats you every morning, however she barks at the deer and rabits all night long. We got use to it after awhile though. The only critisim I can come up with is there was abosulty no dish soap, laundry detergent, of even salt & pepper we had to supply literaly every expendable. I wonder were the stuff we left behind went?

Il Mulinaccio was a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
The gated property is stunningly beautiful and the apartments elegantly furnished with antique furniture and amentities. The beds were comfortable enough, and with the sound of the adjacent waterfall just out side we had no trouble drifing off into a deep sleep. There was also a very nice heated pool on the lower level.

We shared the larger apartment with our friends and each room had a nice washroom en suite which made it seem like a hotel except there is of course no maid service.

Vana, the lovely lady who met us at the property didn't speak a word of English but with patience and a lot of hand gesturing we were to able to communicate very well.

There was only one mishap when there was no hot water one morning but with a call to Vana it was fixed pronto.
Overall it was a very nice experience.

It helps to have a cell phone, because there is no pnone service at the property and it's about a mile down twisting roads to get to the town of Loro Ciuffenna.

The website said there was a short path to a nearby town but we couldn't find one so make sure you ask Vana to show you were it is.
The site is heavily forested.
