My Family'S Trip to Tuscany, Italy

My trip to Tuscany-
I will admit that getting up to the villa was quite confusing the first time but once u got there u got the hang of it for the times to follow. When my family and i started our adventure into the hills we knew it was gonna be difficult to find when they started to give directions by using churches and trees. Although it did a good laugh in for us it was harder then you think but, all that aggrevation turned into joy when we saw the villa. Isolated from everyone with an amazing view of Tuscany, you can see banfi castle from backyard. It was exactly what I hoped for, open and airy and relaxing. The pool (the first place I visited) was crystal clear and the perfect temperature for the warm climate of Tuscany. As I continued to walk around the house I only got happier as I saw the rooms were perfect and the house was just big enough to have your own space if needed but also small enough to never feel alone. I did get lost a couple of times as I was learning to navigate the house but once u walk around a little bit u get the hang of it fast. When we got there we did have but a little bit of food so we needed to go find a grocery store or as they call it in Italy a coop. Luckily for us , just 5 minutes down the road was the beautiful city of montochillo which is where we went to get ourselves some food and lucky for the parents there was a wine store with some of Italy's finest wines in it right next to this coop.
The next day was our first full day in Tuscany and when I woke up everyone was by the pool and I was thinking it was gonna be a relaxing day but I should have known better with our family. We decide to walk the city of montochillo and I have to tell you I'm so happy we did! The city is only 5 minutes from the house and it is totally worth the drive down there. The city is small but filled with tons of stores, restaurants and so much more including gelato! We walked in that town the rest of the day and it was absolutely amazing the small alleys provided shade for us as we walked around it was a pleasurable trip! There are many things to find in that town including restaurants over looking beautiful views , gelaterias, little cafés if you just want to take a break and many more! After you look around and really get to embrace the true beauty and simplicity of this town and you head back to the villa you know that there is more like that to come! Night time comes around in Tuscany and it takes ur breath away! I have never seen something so beautiful in my life. One thing you have to do while you are in Tuscany is go outside and watch the stars! It's nothing like you will ever see in the states and you will truly never see anything like it again.
Mornings in Tuscany are just as amazing , waking up to sun and nothing but peace covering the house is amazing. You can wake up when you want to and that's truly amazing! When you come down stairs after waking up it only gets better you can either sit in the sunlit room inside or you can sit outside under somewhat of a shade that makes it the perfect temperature! You can take a walk up to the pool and relax or you can go somewhere to be alone or go on a run or walk and it doesn't matter! You will hardly ever see anyone!
The next day we were going to go to another small town becuase we were just so impressed with montochillo! We decided to go to a town called San Gimignano and we also made reservations for a wine tasting there! So we accually leave on time which is very rare with my family but we do and we head to the town and we get there and the winery address is wrong so we end up missing our reservation but that's ok becuase we go lucky enough to just be able to walk around the town and see stuff we probabaly wouldn't have see if we had made it to the winery so it all worked out perfectly. We did a lot of shopping and walking around and when we were done and fully satisfied we decided to go back to the villa.
One thing that we can see from the villa is a castle on the horizon and it turns out that it is banfi castle so when our family found that out we had to go over there so we did! When we got there it was really cool just to see a castle they even had some horse carriages in the castle and the floor was made out of stone that looked like it was hand placed so that was cool. As we continued to look around I noticed that it was also a winery as long as a castle and then I saw the statue of the wine god so our family just had to take a picture in front of it!! After pictures were done we just continued to look around and I personally thought it was so cool and worth the trip over!
The next day was a very big day! We are going to Florence Tuscany! I'm so excited! Our family personally decided that we would hire a guide and it was a good decision for us becuase she really explained everything in detail that we saw like the Santa Maria Novella, Palace Strozzi, Plaza di Santa Trinta, we went into two museums , saw La Tribuna, we stopped at St. Cross Church which was a beautiful work of art and really was a great place to have lunch!! Also we saw the white statue of Neptune and a man on a horse in the Palazzo della signoria il marzocco
Which has the symbol of Florence in it- a lion with a Lilly in it's mouth. Then we saw paradise door and Santa Maria del fiore cathedral which was a beatiful church that went way back and was so detailed it was amazing! Then we went to go see the statue of David which was inside one of the museums that we went into. When I was thinking about the statue of David I didn't think it would be anything to great. But boy was I wrong when I saw the statue I was just shocked the size of the statue and the detail of it is just breath taking it is hard to imagine it being hand! Now there were other things in the Museum becuase there were but the big thing was the statue of david! Once we stare in awe for awhile and took a lot of pictures we decided to head back to the villa even though we could walk around Florence all day and never see the same thing twice!
On our second to last day in Tuscany we decide we didn't want to miss anything so we needed to go to two city's today Pienza and Montopulciano so we headed out early and started on our journey. Now some of the best food and restaurants and views are in Montopulciano so we thought we would just shop around in pienza and go to Montepulciano for lunch unless we found the perfect place to eat in pienza! It turns out we did! We found a beautiful restaurant with outside seating looking over a gorgeous view of Pienza so we stopped there! After a nice lunch in pienza we head to Montepulciano. The one thing that stood out to me there more then anything was we saw a beautiful church! The churches is Italy over all just impress me so much because there so detailed! Unfortunately we had to leave pretty quickly because we wanted to make it back to near our villa to watch the munks chant!
We made if back just in time to make the munks chant but u couldn't have youshoulders showing so they gave us scarfs to put over our shoulders, we couldn't keep it though! Watching the munks chant was pretty cool do u don't get how they do it but they do! It was definetly worth the time to see it!
One of my favorite places we visited in Tuscany was Siena and it was on our last day in Tuscany! Now some debate weather or not the drive out to Siena is worth it depending on where you are, and I was too , your on vacation u shouldn't have to drive and hour or so but can I just say Siena will truly impress you like it did to me!! When you first get to Siena you forget all of the drive and you will just want to see more!! Now I could go on all day about everything to see in Siena like all the leather shops and beautiful views that are there and everything Siena has to offer but if I did that I would be writing all day! My favorite part, however, of Siena was the square in the middle of Siena! There is a huge tower you can climb roughly 400 steps up and 400 steps down but u get to see an amzing view of Siena. I could have stayed up there all day! But we couldn't! One thing that we got to experience was that while we were up on the tower we looked down to at the square and we saw a parade!
Overall our trip to Tuscany was a once in a life time experience and I'm glad I spent it like did!
