Perched on top of a hill between Lucca and the Camaiore coast, this property offers lovely views over vineyards, olive groves and chestnut woods. The house, built at the beginning of the 1900s, has higher ceilings and larger windows than classical farmhouses and still maintains some of the features of its origins as the local “bottega” (general store). It is a particularly bright house with two separate areas for communal living. It is situated on the same estate as Villa Clara, a villa we have been succesfully renting for years, and used to be one of the farmers’ houses. It has been totally restored, and the interiors have been decorated with old Tuscan furniture to preserve the original character. One of the rooms has facilities for disabled guests and all bedrooms are en-suite. The garden and swimming pool have been positioned on the opposite side of Villa Clara to assure total privacy. The area is ideal for people looking for a quiet location, yet at same time wishing to be close to a town. In fact, the walled medieval town of Lucca is only 10 minutes away. Also, as it is only 6 km from the nearest motorway exit, it is an ideal base for visiting the main towns of Tuscany. There is a tennis club within walking distance of the house. The helpful caretakers live on the estate, in a separate apartment.

Nestled in the beautiful Tuscan hills of Lucca, La Palma is an oasis of calm and relax. This outstanding villa, together with the adjacent farmhouse, has recently been restored to a very high standard. Both houses date from the 16th century, retaining all their historic features as a true Tuscan idyll. Macennere is a lovely stone-built farmhouse located in a very secluded and tranquil position in the hills of Lucca. The area, Forci, is one of the most beautiful in all the Luccan countryside. Despite its quiet location, the property is also just 15 minutes by car from the centre of Lucca. From the house and the garden, surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees, there are wonderful views over the countryside, from the Apuan Alps down to the plain of Lucca. The house has been recently restored and very tastefully furnished by a British interior decorator for the use of his family and is now available for rent when they are not in residence. He has used authentic Tuscan materials, such as antique cotto floors and beamed ceilings, and furnished it in a very attractive rustic, yet elegant style. Both to the front and back of the house there are outside eating areas with a built-in barbecue. The house has been featured in a 14-page article in an edition of the magazine “The World of Interiors” and in a 5-page review in one April 2005 issue of "The Times" magazine. The 1,5 kilometres road, down a forest track leading to the house, is not suitable for cars with low suspensions or for nervous drivers.

Set in the hills South-East of Lucca, Al Fanucchi is an ideal retreat for family summer vacations. A panoramic terrace in front of the house was planned to be an outdoor living area during the day and an inviting spot for al fresco eating in the evening. At the back of the house, on a slightly higher level, a 13x6 swimming pool was installed in the lawned garden. The structure of the house develops on three different floors allowing two families to holiday together while retaining their separate spaces. The centre of Lucca and the main Tuscan attractions are all easily reachable thanks to the convenient location of the villa. For any assistance required guests can address the helpful owners who live on the same estate. They share the entrance gate and parking area with the guests of Al Fanucchi but in no way interfere with their privacy.

It is located in a superb position, high in the hills, 15 kms to the south-east of Lucca, and surrounded by olive groves and pine trees. There are fantastic views over the countryside and the plain of Montecatini in the distance. Both the house and the pretty garden are exceptionally well-maintained by the owners, and the interiors are equipped with all modern facilities. The swimming pool, situated to one side of the house, is in a perfect position to enjoy the beautiful views. Close to the pool area, there is a stone-built barbecue and pizza oven, an outdoor shower and an outdoor dining area. Near the driveway, about 20 metres from the house, there is small guesthouse with a double bedroom and bathroom. The secluded position and the fact that it is accessible by its private road ensure peace and tranquillity for the guests of Al Mennucci. This road lasts for 1 km and it is unsealed, therefore not suitable for low sport cars.

I Gelsomini is a lovely farmhouse, situated only 5 km from Lucca. The house has been restored by the owners, Italian architects, who used it until recently as their home. They successfully preserved the character of the old farmhouse, with its antique cotto floors and beamed ceilings. A covered patio connects the main house to the huge sitting room (100 sq. metres) that has been made out of the original hayloft, whose structure has been maintained yet modernized with parquet floor, fireplace and large windows overlooking the pool. It is also at less than 4 km from the motorway exit and is perfect to explore Tuscany: Florence is less than 50 minutes away; Pisa and the beaches less than 20 minutes; the center of Lucca less than 5 minutes. Lucca is one of the most fascinating cities of Tuscany and I Gelsomini is a typical example of local architecture. On first floor there is a air-conditioning unit to refresh the whole floor.

This beautiful property is situated among olive groves and vineyards on the hills east of Lucca. It is composed of a very old stone-built house and a guesthouse. From both of them one can enjoy magnificent views. A particular feature of the main house, dating back probably to the 13th century, is a beautiful open loggia offering glorious views of the surrounding valley. The owner, an architect and designer by profession, furnished the property with period furniture while maintaining the character of the original structure. All modern facilities, including a WIFI connection, were supplied to fulfil the guests needs and each bedroom was provided with its own bathroom. The pool is in a beautiful panoramic position. Air conditioning is available in the guesthouse at extra cost. In low season it is also possible to rent the property for smaller groups.
